Notes | 1955 Cadillac 62 Series convertible found to have normal wear consistent with age and mileage of vehicle. Areas of light body damage to painted and chrome surfaces on the left and right side of car. Vehicle appears to have had been restored at one point in time, not recent. True mileage unknown. The tires and wheels are in good condition, spare included, with approx 8/32" tread remaining. The exterior of the vehicle shows well, but scratches and blemishes, some of which have been touched up, are present. The convertible cover was found to be in very good condition. The rear bumper chrome is damaged on right lower portion near rocker. The front lower lights have stress cracks due to use over time. The right rear 1/4 panel has a 1ft long scrape on it. The right and left fender have paint chips. The right side door and fender have a dent with chipped paint where they meet. The left door weather stripping is falling off. The left tail light is cracked. The interior of the vehicle was found to be clean, seating surfaces have cracking due to age in areas. The steering wheel is cracked, and center button is cracking. The wipers were found to be inoperable, as was the original analog clock and radio. A separate cassette/cd player is present in the glove box. The door sills were in fair condition. Inspection of then engine bay found the transmission has a minor leak. Seller stated that shop just replaced engine oil pan gasket. Test drive was completed with no issues observed during test drive. The engine did smokes on startup and for a few minutes afterwards (see pictures taken). The vehicle drove well overall, tracks straight, and accelerates, brakes, and handles as expected. |
